2009 Florida Gators Football Schedule

Posted by CollegeBowlProjections.com On January - 12 - 2009
florida_gators The Florida Gators will be defending their title in the SEC and nation next year.  Before we look at their schedule for the upcoming season, let’s look at the 2008 schedule and the results. The Gators were 6-1 at home, 4-0 on the road, and 3-0 on a neutral field.  The Gators defeated their SEC rivals (outside of the Ole Miss defeat) by an average of 33 points.
2008 Record 13-1
Hawaii 56-10
Miami (FL) 26-3
at Tennessee 30-6
Mississippi 30-31(Loss)
at Arkansas 38-7
LSU 51-21
Kentucky 63-5
vs. Georgia 49-10
at Vanderbilt 42-14
South Carolina 42-14
Citadel 70-19
at Florida State 45-15
vs. Alabama 31-20
vs. Oklahoma 24-14

Florida will play only four road games again this season with their traditional game in Jacksonville against Georgia.  They will play grueling opponents Charleston Southern, Troy and Florida International at home and avoid Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss on the schedule.

The toughest road game appears to be at LSU.  However LSU will still be trying to resolve their QB issues and the Gators will get them early enough on the schedule to cause havoc in the LSU backfield.  The Gators will have plenty of time to prepare with a bye week before they enter Baton Rouge.

This schedule would be perfect for a “rebuilding” year in Florida.  Instead the Gators return almost everyone and will breeze through this schedule.  Challenging title teams from other conferences better hope the Gators have another “Ole Miss” hiccup against Tennesee, Arkansas or Vanderbilt.

Expect Florida to win the SEC title in 2009 and visit Pasadena in 2010 for the national championship.

The 2009 Florida Gators Football Schedule:

September 5 Charleston Southern
September 12 Troy
September 19 Tennessee
September 26 at Kentucky
October 10 at LSU
October 17 Arkansas
October 24 at Mississippi State
October 31 Georgia (Jacksonville, FL)
November 7 Vanderbilt
November 14 at South Carolina
November 21 Florida International
November 28 Florida State

Not exactly an objective preview, but accurate. Since the schedule was made quite some time ago, and no one knew if Tim Tebow would return for his senior year, your comments seem a bit antagonistic. The Gators have a strong program, an excellent coach, and most importantly, a group of young men who are dedicated to perform at the highest level. No shortcuts, no cheating, no whining. Just hard work and dedication. If Alabama and Floriida State had these qualities, they would not have had to forfeit all those victories and face ridicule from football fans across the nation.

Name ANY other team that is playing 5 YES 5 top 25 pre season teams…USC, Boise St., Utah, Cal, Oregon st..Not to mention 2 out of 3 nonconference games are against 2 top 25 teams; Boise st. and Utah which had a combined record of 25-1 in 2008 to include humiliation of Alabama. Sec power-house Florida has out of confence match up with(17-19) Troy, Charleston S., and Florida Intl….a joke! Masoli and the Ducks can take the pack 10 title as well as a national contender with a shedule like that. I’m thinking Davey O’Brien award would be nice frosting to a Lagerette Blount Heisman. GO DUCKS!!!!!! SEC, not just Florida, always picks the weakest out of conference games. P.S. Tim Teblows day will come. Dixon would have had the Heisman as well as the championship if he didn’t injure his knee….bullet dodged by Teblow. When Bens old ass finally calls it quits then Dixon can be QB for the Steelers about the time we witness Teblows become another Ryan Leaf

“These qualities?” That’s a joke right?? The Florida Gators have had more players arrested this year than any other team IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY!!!!(currently at 24, Heck there are only 22 starters, you do the math!) No shortcuts, no cheating?? An investigation just found that UF has an attorney on retainer to bail out their own criminal/athletes. Wow, you must swallowed all of Urban Meyer in your mouth! Oh yeah, the evalution of the Gators this year is right on the money! Powder puff scheduel, and a locker room full of criminals, that’s a recipie for success!!THE MUGSHOT NATION BABY!!!
