2012-2013 College Football Bowl Predictions

College Football Season Begins! Week One Preview

College football is upon us as games start tomorrow! We have had a crazy off season with teams switching conferences, coaches coming and going and players and coaches getting booted for failing to follow rules. Now it is time to hit the gridiron and see who can come through the trials and tribulations from the off season. Week one will bring us many clunkers but there are a few games that really interest us here at collegbowlprojections.com.

#14 Clemson vs. Auburn (+3) – Clemson was one of the surprises last season as Dabo Sweeney was able to get Taj Boyd to play out of his mind at QB. Boyd and now sophomore WR Sammy Watkins should light up the scoreboard all season. Auburn is a wild card. We are not sure where they fit in the hierarchy of the SEC. This game is going to be a huge test and could set the Tigers up for success or failure going forward. The big question is whether the ACC offense can score on the SEC defense. Pick: Clemson -3

#24 Boise State @ #13 Michigan State (-6.5) – Last year we would have been gushing about the Kirk Cousins versus Kellen Moore matchup; This year is all about the 2 programs finding replacements for all the players they lost to graduation. We are really looking forward to seeing Le’Veon Bell catapulting his name into the Heisman race. Boise State has a tough draw taking their new QB into Spartan Stadium to start his career. Pick: Michigan State -6.5

#8 Michigan vs. #2 Alabama (-13.5) – Can anyone wait for this game? Wolverine QB, Dennard Robinson, says he can out run Usain Bolt and he will need that speed against the Alabama defense on Saturday. Alabama lead the nation in scoring defense last year and though they suffered a few losses seem poised to be a dominating force again. The real interesting matchup will be the improving Michigan defense against the ‘Bama offense minus Trent Richardson. New Tide OC Doug Nussmeier will rely heavily on QB Aj McCarron to lead this offense. We think this is going to be one of the most entertaining games of the entire year. Pick: Michigan +13.5
