Do you really think UCLA won’t win 6 games this year? They will likely have Kevin Prince at QB who is an upgrade over Craft. Their offensive line will be much improved with transfer Kai Maiava at center and Sean Sheller returning from injury. Defensively they return all their linebackers, 3 of their top 4 defensive ends, All-Pac 10 tackle Brian Price and two of the better defensive backs in safety Rahim Moore and cornerback Alterraun Verner. Add that to a schedule that has one gimme non-conference game (San Diego St.), two non-conference games against teams breaking in new coaching staffs and quarterbacks and a Pac 10 that should be better at the top, but not nearly as deep and 6 wins is not only very attainable, but odds are they will get at least 7 and maybe 8.

Just to let you know the Humanitarian Bowl is now affiliate with the MWC and WAC not the ACC anymore.
Florida State and South Florida?? in a BCS game seems like a stretch. Also, your BCS picks defy logic of who the bowl committees would take. If Texas makes the BCS title then most likely the Fiesta would take Oklahoma and not Cal (who will not make it) or Alabama as their first pick to replace Texas.
The Sugar Bowl would take Alabama over FSU or Oklahoma as their first pick to replace Florida. Also, since the Orange Bowl gets the third pick after the Fiesta and Sugar take their replacement for missing the title game I seriously doubt they would take the Big East winner again. If you feel these teams will make it below is how the bowls will be set up you have to keep in mind tradition for the bowl games and ticket sales all these bowls are businesses that want to make the most money.
Fiesta BCS vs. BCS South Florida vs. Oklahoma
Rose BCS vs. BCS USC vs. Ohio State
Sugar BCS vs. BCS Alabama vs. California
Orange BCS vs. BCS Virginia Tech vs. Florida State
Championship Game BCS #1 vs. BCS #2 Florida vs. Texas

So FSU and Vtech will play each other in the ACC championship game and the Orange Bowl? Tell me how this makes any sence?

IT DOESN’T MAKE SENCE HE MOST BE A GAYTOR GRAD….HEY JEREMY FLORIDA STATE AND VA.TECH ARE IN THE SAME CONFERENCE……U IDIOT…..GO NOLES

I guess you’re one of the few publications NOT predicting Ole Miss to be in the top 5-10. Independence Bowl? What are you projecting them? 7-5? 6-6? You may wanna take a minute and look at their schedule before you assume they will be middle of the pack.

Stephen,
its because houston nutt never does well when he has high expectations. look at his history at arkansas. All three seasons arkansas was pre ranked in the top 20 nutt began 0-2 or 0-3 in the sec.
Posted on February 21st, 2009 at 8:58 am
You must remember though that Houston Nutt is not at Arkansas anymore. He never recruited well at Arkansas and Ole Miss he brings in a top 20 class and proves everyone wrong. It’s a different situation. I’m sorry but I do not see Independence bowl with a team returning 17 starters and the easiest schedule in the SEC.

“IT DOESN’T MAKE SENCE HE MOST BE A GAYTOR GRAD….HEY JEREMY FLORIDA STATE AND VA.TECH ARE IN THE SAME CONFERENCE……U IDIOT…..GO NOLES”
Always funny when an obvious moron calls someone else an idiot. Nice all caps, and nice spelling of the words “sense” and “must”. Five straight losses to National champion Florida has made you bitter and that’s a wonderful thing.
Posted on February 22nd, 2009 at 12:23 pm
Just like last year, (loses to Vandy and Wake Forrest) Nutt will find some way to screw up what could be a potentially great season. He always does. When the pressure is on, he goes into panic mode and folds.
Posted on February 22nd, 2009 at 12:45 pm
Whoever made this list is an idiot. UK made a bowl game last year and returns virtually the ENTIRE team. This guy obviously doesnt follow the SEC if he thinks Vandy and Auburn will BOTH be better than UK. UK returns pretty much the entire offense and pretty much the entire defense. Plus they bring in a very good recruiting class. Not to mention a more favorable schedule. Do your research for God’s sake.

FSU and alabama in the BCS? Please… FSU is a dead has been program and will continue to sink into oblivion. Alabama had a fluke year last year and loses most of their OL, their QB, and some key players on defense. If alabama wins more than 8 games, I’ll be shocked. FSU is way past its time and will assume their typical place in the middle of their division. Further, the acc is a very average conference and won’t get 2 teams in the BCS….

You don’t have an SEC team in the Sugar Bowl…
Do you understand how the BCS works?
You may need to trade in your domain name.

Most uninformed prediction yet
Posted on February 23rd, 2009 at 10:46 am
Texas WILL NOT be in the title game.
They have to replace their entire d-line…..have no proven running game and also lost Cosby.
Add to that, they’ve had one of the worse secondary’s year after year and get no big additions from last year to this year. (Palmer graduated)
mark it down - Texas will lose 2-3 games with both OK schools beating Texas.
Posted on March 1st, 2009 at 5:34 pm
If Florida is in the national title game, the Sugar Bowl gets one of the top two replacement picks — they take Alabama another SEC school. Same with the Fiesta — if Texas is in the title game, Oklahoma is in the Fiesta. You need to get informed.
Posted on March 2nd, 2009 at 12:38 pm
I agree with John vc. Texass will not make the title game. They have to replace the D-line and their secondary will suck once again. McCoy is coming back but is losing cosby. They don’t have a great running game either. 2-3 losses just like you said. The OU-OSU game in Norman will decide the south, and the BIG XII champion because the north will suck, again. I’m predicting OSU for the title game. They are getting Hunter, Robinson, and Bryant back.
Posted on March 2nd, 2009 at 10:25 pm
I also don’t agree with Bama making the rose bowl. They might make the chik-fe-le bowl. They are losing Coffee and John Parker wilson. Coffee carried them last year. And they have to rebuild the O line a bit. 3-4 losses next year.

Hokies and FSU can’t play eacother in a conference title and a BCS game . Some one please tell this kid something…..
Posted on March 7th, 2009 at 9:55 am
Alabama will be in the national championship game! we have a 6′7″ 350lb player replacing the only o-lineman were gonna lose john parker dis nothing and we have a five star recruit replacing coffee

wow! most of y’all are idiots. i can’t believe i’m even giving y’all the honor of posting this! i’m glad to see all the hopes and dreams for all of y’alls teams, but when it comes to facts eveyone is wrong! first of all-
1: florida will not repeat. i don’t care if they had drew brees as a qb, harvin is gone. the teams to watch in the SEC isn’t florida & ole miss, it’s alabama & LSU. les miles & nick saban are the best recruiters in the country!
2: FSU in a bcs bowl?????????…they’re still on the way down. things will only get worse for them!
3: 2 teams from the same conference can’t play in a bowl game (i got a headache just by reading that!)
4: DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE MIGHTY SEC!
5: i suggest most of y’all to not embarass your self like that again! i feel dirty reading most of the post on here. i’m just saying, do some research before y’all ruin college football forums!

Alabama vs Oklahoma Nat’l Title
Aubies dont make a bowl
Tenn. and Kiffen burn down in flames
Florida looses 1 game (alabama)

reasons i think texas will be as good or better than last year. they had the 4th best recruiting class. 7 top 100..9 starters return on offense. had 2 top 100 def lineman recruited. had a top 10 running back recruited for the running game have 4 off linemen returning.malcom williams will be as good as cosby. 3 of their starters in secoundary were fresmen. plus they have something to prove since they got cheated out of the national title game. and muschamp will have anounther tear to work with the def.
Posted on May 6th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
What bryan said. By all indications Texas will have an outstanding secondary this year, lack of experience on the D-line will be shored up by quality linebackers coming up to help and genius defensive schemes from Will Muschamp. The offense will be even more productive this year. Malcom Williams is a hoss and will have a killer year along with Shipley doing what he normally does. The running game will improve with a better more experienced o-line and some fresh blood stepping into the role. Colt McCoy will be the best QB in college football AGAIN this year. Sam Bradford has no line this year and will actually have to play football, Tim Tebow was a great running back but they’re trying to get him to be a pocket passer this year to help his draft pick status, we’ll see…Texas owns OU this year and beats OSU or Florida for the NC.

USC wins the BCS and Joe McKnight wins the Heisman Trophy…
Posted on May 17th, 2009 at 10:57 am
I am a huge Cal fan and would love to see them in a BCS game, but I don’t know about 2 Pac 10 teams being able to pull it off. If Cal goes undefeated and USC has their 1 loss to them, MAYBE. But if Cal loses only 1 and its to USC (which is a lot more plausible), count on the BCS to give Cal a non BCS game. I want to see Cal beat Texas in a Bowl game someday in this lifetime, but here’s to hoping. Cal’s pass defense and Texas pass offense would be cool to see. I also agree with john vc about Texas not being in the National Title Game. They will definitely lose 2-4 games this season.
Posted on June 1st, 2009 at 11:22 am
Cal has a great chance of making it into a BCS bowl especially with Jahvid Best in the backfield. If they get good quarterback play(which they should) look for them to knock off Usc.
Posted on June 6th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
Ohio State will only be in the Rose Bowl if they lose a game… If they go undefeated, which they could with the team they got now and beat USC… It will be tOSU vs. Florida… And tOSU will be so fired up because of the lack of respect they get that they will beat Florida. But if they lose a game this season they will rematch USC in Rose Bowl…
However your sugar bowl prediction is way off… It will be either the SEC champ (Florida if they screw up this season and don’t make it to the NC game) or the loser of the SEC title game. Maybe be a long shot here, but I think Ole Miss… might be in the sugar bowl over Bama or any other favorites.
I think it’d be more likely for Oklahoma to be in the Fiesta bowl this year…
This year is the BIG 10 come back!
Posted on June 18th, 2009 at 11:47 am
SEC Sucks! Oklahoma State is going to come out on top in the Big 12!
Posted on June 26th, 2009 at 6:59 am
Stanford will return to the postseason this year. It would be nice if they did get in the sun bowl, but i think they will be in either the emerald or las vegas bowl. Andrew Luck will be one of the best QB’s in the nation before he graduates, plus we return the best white running back in the nation, Toby Gerhart.

My Picks
Fiesta Bowl Ohio State VS Oklahoma
Sugar Bowl USC VS Ole Miss
Orange Bowl Virginia Tech VS West Virginia
Rose Bowl California VS Penn State
BCS Title Game Texas VS Florida
Posted on July 18th, 2009 at 6:05 pm
Ok Ohio state fan here. I’d love to see a rematch of OSU VS UF. I love Timmy Tebow. He is a brother of mine in Christ. I just want one more shot at beating THE BEST COLLEGE QUARTERBACK IN COLLEGE HISTORY. May not happen or it could depending on how the season goes. I think the Buckeyes will be fired up and the seniors on the team from the last time they played the Gators remember that game like it was last night. I still have nightmares of this game 3 years after the fact lol. I’m not going to count Michigan out this year either. Just because they had a really bad year last season doesn’t mean they won’t be good this season. WVU,LSU,Oklahoma,Texas,CAL,USC,OLE MISS,Michigan State, Wisconson,Illinois,VA Tech, and even MIAMI(yes could be a team to watchout for in a few years),BAMA,Arkansas, and even through the controversy THE VOLS are all teams in the next coming years to watchout for or could be this year. Nebraska too. email me a umplebyths06@yahoo.com to tell me what you think. I will not reply to people who want to fist fight me for my predictions. just let me know what you think.

Im hopin Cal wins the Pac-10, goes undefeated and goes to a BCS bowl since they have 17 returning starters…its only possible if Riley puts up good numbers there, O-line stays healthy, and there new Linebackers perform well… however if anything I see them having a tough time away at Oregon…maybe even tougher than at home against an inexperienced USC squad
Posted on July 29th, 2009 at 9:38 pm
Gator bowl for ND? I am assuming this means a predicted 9-3 or 8-4 season. If so, I wonder who will be coaching this game for the Irish. I can’t see Weis being kept on staff unless its a 10-2, 11-1 season and either a Sugar or Orange bowl berth.
Posted on August 3rd, 2009 at 8:49 am
there is no way south florida is going 2 make it 2 a BCS bowl!!! r u kidding me?!?!?!!? florida state will make it 2 a bowl but not a BCS bowl. cal wont make it 2 a BCS bowl either. ohio state is not gonna be that good either this year. Florida is gonna take texas and win it!!! GO GATORS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted on August 8th, 2009 at 7:09 pm
It seems as if everyone is losing faith in Texas, or maybe they never had any. But just looking at what Texas lost won’t keep the monster from coming out from the closet. You can’t ignore the fact that colt McCoy was the best, yes I mean it, quarter back in the NCAA last year. Not to mention the return of beast reciever Jordan Shipley. The D-Line loss will make for some interesting work for will muchamp buuuuuut recruiting the 1 and 2 top rated DE I think correct the position If I’m wrong is like a chest bumb for, and no one can deny it, a pretty damn good defenceive HC and possibly the future face of longhorn football. Texas is hugely underated and I think that will give Texas a huge upperhand.

If pactincant and little ten get auto bid to Rose Bowl..dont you think SEC will still have auto bid to Sugar Bowl??u must be a west coast person
