The Big One!

Game of the Week: Oklahoma Sooners at Florida State Seminoles

Is there any doubt about the game of the week in week 3? The #1 Oklahoma Sooners travel to Doak Campbell Stadium to take on the #5 ranked Florida State Seminoles. This will be the first real challenge for both teams as they have been beating up on the weak sisters of the poor over the first 2 weeks.Florida State needs to find a consistent run game if they want to win this game, the offense needs to have sustained drives and keep the high powered Sooner offense off the field. Oklahoma needs to get off to a fast start and take the crowd out of the game. The longer the Seminoles are in the game the bigger factor the FSU crowd will become. If the Seminoles can pull off the upset they look to be on the fast track to the National Championship game. Their one tough road game is at Florida in November. In the end we see the Jones to Broyles connection being too tough for FSU and Oklahoma heading back to Norman winners.

Other Games to Watch:

#3 LSU @ #25 Mississippi State This match-up pits one of the best defenses in the country, LSU, against one of the top offenses in the SEC, MSU. The Bulldogs are looking for a huge upset coming off the disappointing loss at Auburn last week. LSU looks to keep their BCS Championship dreams alive. In the end we like the defense and LSU over Mississippi State.

Washington @ #10 Nebraska – This is the rubber game of the series as the Huskies and Huskers are meeting for the 3rd time in 12 months.Nebraska can make a huge statement with a blow-out win while Washington can put themselves into the PAC-12 North race with an upset of the Cornhuskers. The key to this game is whether or not UW can stop the running of Nebraska QB Taylor Martinez; if he goes over 100 yards on the ground the Huskers win. If the Huskies can slow him down this could be a signature win for their program.

#15 Michigan State @ Notre Dame – Notre Dame must run the table if they have any chance to get into a BCS Bowl. We think this game boils down to the turnovers. If Notre Dame can win the turn over battle they win the game, if not they lose, end of story.

#17 Ohio State @ Miami – We had to mention this game, it is Ohio State vs. Miami! We are calling this the probation bowl as both teams seem headed to some serious sanctions. Neither team has been great so far, both programs need this win to boost moral and get some momentum.

Interesting things to watch:

Washington State – The Cougars lead the country in offense and will jump into this week’s projection with a win at San Diego State.

WisconsinHow many points will the Badgers run up against Northern Illinois? Does Bret Bielema really think it helps to run up the score?

UCLA – Does Rick Neuheisel get fired with a home loss to Texas?
