2011-2012 College Football Bowl Predictions

Week 6 Preview

Games of the Week –

#18 Arizona State @ #9 Oregon – Many people are thinking the possible absence of LaMichael James will tip this game towards ASU, however, The Ducks are loaded at the RB position. The fact that this game is in Eugene, OR counteracts the loss of James. The only chance that ASU has is to strike early and get a couple TD lead behind Osweiler.  If the Ducks have to throw the ball they are in trouble. Pick: Oregon 37 ASU 24

#6 Oklahoma State @ #22 Texas – We thought that the Longhorns were exposed last week, especially in the secondary. The task for those young CB’s doesn’t get any easier.  Weeden and company have to be licking their chops after watching last week’s debacle in Norman. The Cowboys will look to put up more than the 55 the sooners hung on the horns last week . They don’t quite get there. Pick: OK State 45 Texas 23

#20 Baylor @ #21 Texas A&M – Another Big 12 showdown comes our way.  Whichever QB can protect the ball and control this game will probably win the game for his team. The other key to this game is the balance on offense for A&M. We like the versatility and balance of Tannehill and the over RGIII. Pick: A&M 34 Baylor 27

#11 Michigan @ #23 Michigan State – Everyone loves Big Play Denard Robinson and the quick strike Michigan offense. The real change has been the play of the defense. Michigan State came into the year as one of the favorites in the Big 10 but has been somewhat disappointing. MSU is at home which bodes well for the Spartans but Kirk Cousins has to throw the ball down the field effectively for MSU to pull this off. Pick: Michigan 24 MSU 14

Upset of the Week –

#15 South Carolina @ Mississippi State – It is always tough to win on the road in the SEC. How hard is it to beat an SEC foe on the road after you cut your best QB and your coach gets into a well-publicized argument with the media? These two incidents can bring a team together or tear it down. We will see how Spurrier’s antics affect the Gamecocks. Pick:  Bulldogs 31 South Carolina 24
